Description

The Youth Employment Specialist provides technical expertise to project B-CREATE- a civic education project and employment project implemented by World Learning in Adrar, Tamanrasset, Illizi, El Oued and Batna. The project will work with local training centers to provide youth and students the skills and experience needed to become actively employed and to constructively address social problems within their communities. The project will strengthen technical training programs via increased linkages with local employers and the creation of Career and Culture Centers (C*3) in each community to provide participants the skills and experience needed to constructively enter the local workforce. The YE Specialist will develop relationships with local training facilities and surrounding employers to build the capacity of these entities to collaborate for improved training and employment outcomes for youth. 

Missions

  •  Assist in developing relationships between Algerian technical training institutions and local employers .
  •  Provide training and mentoring for center staff (both technical educators and career counselors) in employer outreach and engagement strategies.
  •  Conduct needs assessments with local and national level employers to determine local and national employment market needs.
  •  Monitor assigned project implementation and ensure project progress toward required goals.
  •  Liaise with external and internal stakeholders .
  •  Assist with organization and implementation of conferences and events.
  •  Other duties as assigned .

Profil

Required Qualifications:

  •  Demonstrated understanding of youth employment issues in Algeria .
  •  Ability to travel frequently within Algeria .
  •  English, Arabic and/or French language proficiency.
  •  University degree .
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  •  Proficiency using social networking for project activities.
  •  Information technology skills, especially in data collection and management.
  •  Experience with monitoring and evaluation .

Desired Qualifications:

  •  Familiarity with technical training programs .
  •  Facility with managing social media for effective project implementation.
