Description

Temporary- 05 months - position ( subject to extension) for maternity leave coverage

Missions

Specific Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the four sections below:

Bank account:

  • Monitor bank balance and insert money transfers from HQ or local partners
  • Cut checks, process wires (make payments)
  • Assure check delivery to vendors with backups saved (hard copies and scans)
  • Keep the checkbooks/stamps safe.

Petty cash:

  • Responsible for petty cash, the safe, and all operations related to its supply and disbursements.

 Software:

  • Active usage of the financial software, INTACCT.
  • Liaising staff to record and reconcile advances via INTACCT.
  • Tracking and recording all financial activities in software, INTACCT.
  • Reviewing transactions /decline for correction/final approval for execution.
  • Coordinate with all staff to keep them accountable for timesheets and expense report submission
  • Inserting monthly journal entries ( JEs) projects allocations,
  • Respond to colleagues’ comments on the system and communicate their inquiries to the home office.
  • Regular communication with finance officer about any new employee to be added to the system, new accounts, project

Accounting and financial closing reports:

  • Prepare, verify, and transmit the field office financial reports to HQ on monthly basis.
  • Liaise with HQ Finance Officer to respond to questions, make corrections to monthly reports.

HR / Payroll:

  • Operator of PC PAIE/ payroll software.
  • Insert new employees and extract reports related to personnel such: pay slips, work certificates.
  • Responsible for monthly payroll to be prepared and delivered on time.
  • Update the legal books

Local hire benefit:

  • Preparation of the payroll for staff in Algiers and field sites.
  • Prepare the raw material and the yearly data for DAS and 301bis in order to be transferred to the local authorities.

Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • English and Arabic language proficiency.
  • University degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity of multi-tasking.
  • Organization and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Teamwork and reliability/ dependability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • French language proficiency.

NB : Dans le cadre d’un remplacement pour congé de maternité nous recherchons un(e) comptable pour une durée de 5 mois possiblement renouvelable.
